Sorry, no V12 Range Rover yet!

Yesterday LeftLaneNews published new spy photos of a L322 Range Rover prototype undergoing cold weather tests. The report suggests there might be a V12 under the bonnet but we checked the license and this prototype is powered by the same 4.2 Supercharged V8 that’s in the current model. Land Rover has also been testing vehicles with a 5.0-liter petrol V8, which we have confirmed through the UK's license records. This Range Rover prototype could be testing other new systems in preparation for its update which is expected sometime in 2009. A V12 Range Rover might still be in the works, but you'll probably have to wait for the next generation model (L405), which is due in about three years.

A V12 would certainly be exotic but I would rather have a TDV8 with the same amount of power and much more torque.
