Bahrain: Bahraini to drive through 12 countries in two months!

Four years after his remarkable 21,000-kilometre Dilmun to Dublin road journey, Bahraini travel enthusiast and publisher, Ali Mushaima, is set to take on another extraordinary driving feat. Taking this year's trip in an LR3, the award-winning and luxurious family 4X4 from Land Rover, Ali will be visiting 12 countries promoting friendship though his tour themed ‘Bahrain to Britain: Voyage of Discovery'.
Starting in May and visiting Bahraini embassies where posted, Ali will drive through Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Italy, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Scotland, and UK where he will celebrate the end of his journey. Ali plans to accomplish this 15,000-kilometres journey in two-months finishing in Silverstone on the 6th of July.
"During the Bahrain International Travel Exhibition last year, His Highness the Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa asked me if I was planning another trip; and that got me excited for a new adventure. The friendship tour will provide me with a unique opportunity to promote my country's history, culture and rich heritage whilst making new friends on the way", said Ali.
Driving the correct vehicle for the journey was vital and choosing a Land Rover, which manufactures the worlds finest, all terrain vehicles, was an obvious choice for Ali. Offering dynamic on-road and class leading off-road capability, the LR3 has a number of technological innovations that ensure easy manoeuvrability on any terrain, suitable for the challenging terrains Ali will face during his journey.
LR3's bold, distinctive design and the blend of power and performance will ensure a smooth drive whilst the spacious and comfortable interior will be ideal for his team of travel writers and photographers who will be joining him at various legs of the trip. Land Rover will also provide road-side assistance in all the Gulf countries he plans to visit.
Ali and his team will join in the celebrations of the company's 60th anniversary by visiting Land Rover's Solihull factory 10th of July upon their arrival in the UK, where a reception is planned to mark the end of his tour.
During his journey, Ali will put to test skills learnt during the Bahrain International Circuit's Adventure Drive Arabia programme. He will also promote Bahrain as the home of enthusiastic motor racing which also hosts Formula One World Championship.
Ali will distribute his recent Travel guide - Visitor complete Guide to Bahrain and organize events during the expedition. Ali will publish a travelogue on the completion of his tour highlighting his experience. The travelogue will be available at book stores and hotels across the country.
