Two historic Land Rovers participated in the classic German road rally Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon last week in celebration of Land Rover's 60th Anniversary. The oldest model, a 1948 Land Rover Series I, piloted by Land Rover's Technical Communications Manager and historian, Roger Crathorne, took center stage and the other Land Rover featured was the very first Range Rover produced "YVB 153H" from December 1969, driven by Land Rover Germany's Managing Director, Jeffrey L. The rally stretched 627 kilometers and took participants up mountain roads to 2,383 meters above sea level. The rallys emphasis is on precision instead of speed as many of these vehicles will most likely return to museums and collections soon after the event.
